When approached by Serena Jenkins, the President of Idaho ACDA, to select music for the 2023 Changing Voice Choir, I searched for a text that would not only resonate with our young singers but also evoke a sense of joy and exuberance. Inspired by text from delightful verses by anonymous poets, I decided to compose original lyrics and music, celebrating the sheer joy of boys singing. The piece is infused with a rhythmic choral drive to engage our singers and capture their passion. The composition also features an R&B hook for the chorus, and an invigorating guttural shout encouraging our young voices to make some noise.

The shaker and djembe percussion instruments, as well as the piano, are invited to improvise and jam alongside the singers.
